Police are investigating two identical incidents where people lost their lives due to unnecessary stabbings.
Mombasa police are searching for a father suspected of killing his 25-year-old daughter during a fight over a solar light lamp on Saturday night.
According to police at Changamwe Station, Simon Mumbi stabbed Diana Yambu in her upper body just before he ran away.
Police visited the scene and took photographs of the body, revealing an enormous stab wound. The body was then transported to the Coast General Hospital mortuary to be preserved until the postmortem.
During their investigation, DCI crime scene investigators discovered a blood-stained kitchen knife.
The incident also follows another stabbing incident in Kochogo village, Nyando Sub County, when a man lost his life following a quarrel with a lady.
Shortly after his admission to the hospital, Otieno, the unfortunate victim, succumbed to his afflictions.
Area Chief Alfred Ondola stated, “We took the 24-year-old to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH), where he died, adding that the two got into a violent altercation over a woman.”
“The perpetrator then produced a knife and murdered the person who passed away in the stomach,” said Ondola.
After abandoning the unfortunate individual in a pool of blood, the assailant fled the scene.
Whoever fled the attack site after it happened is now a prime target for the police.
